Tips and tricks to maintain your exteriors

#tipsandtricks

The sun will eventually take over! In the meantime, take advantage of the cooler weather to get active outside. Do you know the virtues of baking soda? It can help you to cleanse everything – without aggression – before enjoying your deckchair.

A neat and clean deck with baking soda mixed with water at equal volume is easy. Whether it is made of wood, composite, concrete or tiles, just spray it and leave it to work for 1 hour (e.g. 20m2, 10 liters and 40 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda). Rinse with plenty of water and enjoy the result. Caution – proceed with this type of cleaning before replanting along your terrace, otherwise your plants will resent you a little!

A perfectly clean barbecue? Baking soda diluted with water will still be a great help. Simply rub the grill with the mixture and rinse several times with water. This mixture is great for cleaning the griddle if it hasn’t been done before autumn.

Garden furniture also suffers during these periods of alternating rain and sunshine. Dirt settles and blackens everything, table, chairs and deckchairs. If they are not systematically protected, there is no alternative – they have to be cleaned. The idea is to do it efficiently so that you don’t have to spend hours cleaning them. Our trick for plastics and pvc is to use a sponge soaked in soapy water that you sprinkle with baking soda. Don’t forget to rinse and you’ll see that the result is immediate and long-lasting. For wooden furniture, there is no other alternative than a soft brushing with water and Marseille soap, or black soap, but above all without bicarbonate! For rattan, if it has turned yellow you can brush it a little harder with salt water, without forgetting to rinse and let it dry in the sun.

Exteriors must be pampered before the summer and our tips are there to make your life easier. Baking soda is an environmentally friendly product that offers a wide range of benefits: weed killer, pest repellent, antifungal, degreaser and odor remover… a natural recipe for creating a high-quality cleaner.
